Kath - look familiar? Stopped on my way home last night at our denali picnic spot, the mountain still wasn't totally out but you could see a lot more of it. I'm bummed you never saw it, a picture just doesn't do justice. Posted by Picasa

From Seward

Here's a few photos from Hatcher's Pass, definitely the highlight of the trip thus far - despite the constant rain and no visibility the whole time we were there :( Kath loved being in the mountains, Spence and Bryce just loved the ladder to the loft. Last night we stayed at George and Carolyn's cabin on the Kenai, think we'll go back there tomorrow since the b+b in Seward is a bit too challenging (small) at bedtime. But first, a big boat ride into the Park tomorrow. We walked on the docks this evening to check out the boats - Grammy/Grampa there is one very excited 4 year old!! Sorry no phone lines where we'll stay the next few nights, so no more blogging for a few days..

Headed South

We're off - heading South today. Picnic in Denali today, tonight we'll stay in a cabin at Hatcher's Pass Lodge (www.hatcherspasslodge.com) and then we'll continue South to Seward. We'll try to post some pictures sometime this weekend when we're in Seward. Love to all...

Hey everyone. Here's a few pictures of Kathy and Spencer's boat ride yesterday. Meanwhile Julie and Bryce had a great hike up Moose mountain, with a picnic on the top in a patch of raspberries, and even saw a Moose on the way down! Posted by Picasa

Notes from Spencer

One morning, Aunt Julie called Bryce a "good dog"! And that was soooo funny! Tomorrow Mommy and I are going on the "Riverboat Discovery" and we'll see a plane landing on a river and a famous dog-sledding team (check it out on their web site). Today we are going to take Kai swimming! And maybe I'll walk in the water with my puddle boots! That's all I want to say.
Notes from Mommy: It's great to relax! Aunt Julie (aka Juju) lives a great lifestyle! We've done some short hikes, nothing to strenuous yet as the smoke is really a deterant (as you can see in the crane picture from yesterday), and today looks just as bad. We'll head to Denali on Tuesday, then down to Anchorage and Seward. The boys are both doing well ... sleeping well and Spencer has been FULL of energy. By the time we leave Aunt Julie will be so glad we live so far away! They both love Juju's loft, and even Bryce has pooped in the outhouse! (Although the 2nd time he tried he didn't quite like the 30 degree temps out there!)

We went to a crane festival here in Fairbanks yesterday. You can see how bad the smoke was in these pictures. Julie taught Spencer (and Mommy) how to id cranes and geese and ducks flying by. They also had some live birds on display and Spencer made some crafts... Posted by Picasa
