skiing again...

i was psyched to dust off the skate skiis this week, it feels so great to ski again! still not much snow here but enough and conditions are remarkably good at birch hill. we took the dogs up moose mtn today, dea and ben broke out the tele skiis - they were a little overzealous there. but the sledding was awesome!   dan - before he switched to the stomach technique and went down at 20+ mph - with the 5 dogs in hot pursuit.

the snow is a tease. enough to send all those idiots without snow tires on yet into the ditch, but not yet enough to ski. i'm hopeful by tomorrow tho...

just a nice saturday trail run on one of my favorite local trails. just me and caz. literally, just the two of us - 2 hours out on a great trail just 10 min out of town and we saw noone. a good reminder of why i love fairbanks. it was snowing pretty good by the time we got back to the car...

rough day

poor caz had a rough surgery today (to prevent any future cazimotos). right now she's still drugged up on morphine but once that wears off i have no idea how we're going to survive 10 days of no exercise, no socializing with other dogs, AND the ecollar - 10 days!!
  

Anchorage

pretty burnt out with work these days, so i just took a few days off and road tripped to Anchorage and had a great long weekend - catching up with old friends. Got in a few fun road rides ("fun" meaning pooring rain and pretty windy, guess the fun part was just how ridiculous it was). I was hoping to come home and put my road bike away and trade it in for skiis but it's still warm here, not even any snow in the forecast. Anne (Thomas) and Chris are building a sauna on their property so helped out a bit with that... one of anne's clients - gary, is a carpenter and is helping them build. below - anne, chris, and gary working out porch design.
